Valentine's Update

This has been the most colorful Feb 14 of my entire life...

The long story begins...

I was broke. I only had P99.00 on my savings account's available balance (which means I can't even withdraw it!) and was fervently praying that the check Roni deposited a day earlier would be credited on V-day. It didn't. So I had to live with the P100-bill I borrowed from papa... But that P100-bill has already been used up for transportation expenses... And then the most tragic thing happened. My feet were hurting and I really wanted to buy a new pair of shoes that very day but I know I could not afford it! Every step, my aching feet seemed to bring me hell! I need a solution to my problem! I had an idea. My bank allows EPS where I can just swipe my atm card for purchases, and it's even better than a credit card since it doesn't require a minimum amount. Since I have P99 on my account, I can look for slippers at that price (or lower) instead of shoes!

SM's shoe department seemed like a vast ocean while every footstep hurts! The first pair of slippers that I really liked cost P99.75!!! (GRRRR!!!! I'm 75cents short...). It seemed like forever before I found the perfect pair for P69.75. Thank heavens! That moment, I really wanted to cry! I wasted no time in relieving myself from that demonic shoes I've been wearing (and i promise not to wear it again!).

My sponsor for the day was Adolf, which means I never got hungry! Lord, thank you for my friends =). And speaking of friends, I also met Archie and Cary that day... It was a day of catching up with some long lost friends...

Pa-cute keu ko noh?

As promised, I went to the Pinoy Idol auditions but I was dismayed because it was a closed-room audition, and I didn't know that... Hmpf! I didn't get to see and hear the signin'! Well anyway, good thing though for those who auditioned since there's less pressure...

I concluded my Valentine's day with the movie Jumper... I got to watch the movie with Cary, thanks to my sponsor (and his 50% usurious interest rate, hahaha!).

Happy Hearts!

Two days 'til February 14... Do you have a date on Valentine's Day? (Well, if you ask me, I didn't have a date for the past three consecutive v-days and still don't have a date for this year's v-day...)

Anyway, there's no reason being sulky on V-Day just because you don't have a date... What can you do on V-day? Here's my list:

1. Join the Philippine Idol Auditions. Yes, auditions for Davao will be held on Valentine's Day at SM City Davao, Entertainment Center. You might get lucky! And of course, I'll see you there... No, I'm not joining the audition.. I will be there to look and listen, and support some friends who will be joining the audition.
2. Treat your family. Who says Valentine's Day is only for lovers? Wouldn't it be nice to celebrate Valentine's Day with your family? It's not always that you go out with your parents and siblings, why not treat them to a fine-dining restaurant on this day? Instead of splurging for a romantic day or night for two, you can splurge on for something that the whole family can enjoy!
3. Singles Night Out! Singles have the right to have fun, too. Meet up with your single friends and make plans for dinner, movie, bar hopping, and just enjoy. Sing your hearts out at the various videoke bars around the city or just dance the night away.
4. Treat yourself with a day in spa. Why not? It would be very relaxing. Just think of it as a gift to yourself for being such a hardworking girl. Don't be pressured on not having a date, go to the spa, refresh, and reinvigorate!
5. Do the usual. If you're not into making big plans for the day, then just do the usual. No need to get stressed.

A dateless Valentine's day isn't that bad... Smile. And have a Happy Heart's Day!
