chill8, swexie, kwen @ the addu covered court

The University of Mindanao College of Law took an active part during the Medico-Legal Friendship Games '08 held last March 8 and 9, 2008.

Ateneo de Davao University law students and the Davao Medical School's Dentistry and Medicine students, with the special participation of Kikay of Cor Jesu (Digos), joined the event. The games held were basketball, volleyball, scrabble, chess, extemporaneous speaking, quiz bowl, and solo singing contest. Ateneo de Davao University College of Law was declared Over-All Champion (again!). Kudos!

I would like to dedicate this blog post to all the UM students who joined us in the event: Vice-Gov. April, Sec. Chillette, Rep. Roldan, Rep. Mark, Mayor Jojo, Engr. Tambagan, Eric, Mike (I know that it's the wrong spelling of your name), Adolf (the manager of my singing career, lol!), to our basketball players Joey, Daddy (?), Arnie Pogi (?), Cabs, (i'm sorry i don't know everybody)... Also thanks to the volleyball players Francis, Aldwin, Councilor Elno, etc. (Ug salamat nalng pud sa among governor na wala jud niadto!)

I went home at 12 midnight with a hoarse voice and bruised right arm. But I really enjoyed the activities we had even though I also had to deal with an upset stomach (thanks to Eric for the Kremil).
the manager and the talent, and vice versa lol!

Also, thanks to Addu's set of officers and players, specially to RR, Mara, Rhys, Melvin, and the rest of the gang who invited us for dinner... (Pabuhi keu ang UM noh? hehehe).

Eavesdropping

It was hard not to listen to their conversation... Manang's voice was so loud and it seems to echo inside the tricycle we're in...

She was telling a friend of how outrageous and ill-mannered the youth are nowadays... In other words, my generation has a twisted character. I just listened. Even though I really wanted to give my reaction, I know I'm not in the position to do so. She related how they (in the olden times) would obediently follow their parents' orders, and compared it to how the younger people of 2008 would talk back to their folks.

I felt a sense of guilt. I quarrel with my parents. Often, I don't pay attention to their suggestions because I feel like I know what to do with my life... But generally, my relationship with them is harmonious. I don't fear them, I respect them and love them.

Anyway, back to the conversation of Manang and her friend, Manang suggested that the reason for the change of behavior of the youth is due to milk... Whaaaat?? I don't know.. But she went further by saying that since babies are fed with bottled milk, the character and attitude of these bottle-fed babies have become animal-like... Owww? So? You mean, I'm like a cow since most of the processed milk are from cow's milk? I don't want to believe her theory...

The sound of the engine boomed and overpowered Manang's voice... End of story.
